Upon Completion

We are pleased to report that the 16th World Congress of the International Society for Criminology was successfully concluded on August 9, 2011. 1,467 participants registered, 164 sessions were held, 92 posters were posted, and six scientific tours were conducted. 317 registrants participated from outside Japan, and 42 countries/regions were represented. In lieu of a more formal report, the concluding speech of Setsuo Miyazawa, Chair, Local Arrangement Committee, is reproduced below. Furthermore, we gratefully share the message provided by ISC President Tony Peters, ISC Secretary General Stephan Parmentier, and ISC Scientific Commission President Serge Brochu, as well as those we received from Professors Peter Grabosky and Wesley G. Skogan.
