For Chairs and Co-Chairs
Notes to Chairs and Co-Chairs for Individual Paper Sessions
We are grateful that you kindly accepted our request for chairing or co-chairing a session. We have a few notes specifically for you.
1. The session schedule was compiled on the basis of the information as at April 17th, 2011. Some presenters may have cancelled their participation since then, or have simply decided not to come, so that the actual number of presenters of each session may vary. Depending on the number of actual presenters, and leaving a sufficient amount of time (20 minutes or so) for discussion at the end of the session, you are requested to allocate an appropriate amount of time for each presentation.
2. You are requested to announce the beginning of the session, briefly introduce each presenter and paper, keep time, moderate discussions, and announce closing of the session.
3. You may also be a presenter at the session. In such a case, please ask your co-chair to introduce you. In case you are the only person to chair the session, please introduce yourself.
4. Each room is equipped with a computer, a projector, and a screen. Presenters are not allowed to connect their own laptop to the projector; they are required to bring a USB memory for Power Point slides and other presentations.
5. In case you need technical assistance, please ask the staff members assigned to each room for help. They will call a technician if they cannot solve the problem by themselves.
