Welcome

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

It is our great honor and pleasure to announce that the 16th World Congress of the International Society for Criminology will be held August 5 -9, 2011 in the beautiful city of Kobe, Japan. The Japan Federation of Criminological Associations (JFCA), your Japanese host, would like to extend our wholehearted welcome to you and your friends. Please do consider to take part in this very important and exciting event for the world of criminologists.

For a long time, Japanese criminologists had been longing for an opportunity to host this prestigious world congress in Japan. Now that we are given a chance, we would like to do our best to ensure that your participation will be worthwhile, and your stay as comfortable as can be.

We have prepared an excellent academic program with the world’s most distinguished criminologists, which will provide you with an intellectually stimulating and exciting experience. We also have plans for your gastronomical and cultural experiences of the Japanese tradition. Our tours will take you to many parts of beautiful Japan, and you will find that the legendary Japanese hospitality is very much alive everywhere you go as you are the honored guests to this country.

Colleagues and friends, please do not miss this great opportunity. You do not need to be an ISC member to join the congress. On-line registration and paper submission will commence around the beginning of August 2010. Please check this web site again, and let your friends join you.

We look forward to welcoming you in Kobe.

Sincerely yours,

Organizing Committee and Local Arrangement Committee (JFCA)
